Classified sites and monuments

Madagascar counts 146 classified sites and monuments of which only 27 have been restored to date.

Some of them are now included in world heritage, like the royal hill of Ambohimanga, the Tsingy of Bemaraha, the cliffs and caves of Isandra, or the Mahafaly hinterland.

Among these sites and by province, we can cite in:

ANTANANARIVO

Antananarivo: the Rova plateau, the commemorative churches, the hill of Antsahadinta, the falls of Tsinjoarivo, the mountain of Tsiafajavona, the vestiges of Jean Laborde works at Mantasoa, the primitive vegetation of Ibity near Antsirabe, and the lake Itasy.

ANTSIRANANA or DIEGO SUAREZ

Analamera,  the Sugar Loaf, the Mountain of Amber, the Caves of Orangea, the Caves of Ankarana, the Sacred Lake of Antanavo, the Royal Palace of Ankify,the Falls of the Mahavavy

FIANARANTSOA

The Old City, the royal tomb of Vohitsisaky, the Massif of Ifandana, the forests of   Faliarivo and Ambohitsara, the Cascade of Sakaleona, the Falls of Namorona

MAHAJANGA  or MAJUNGA

The baobab, the emblem of the town, the Caves of Andranoboka, the Sacred lake of Ampijoroa, the Sakalava cemetery of Nosy Lava, the silicified trees of Ankondromena, the burial places of Bekopaka , the Gorges of Manambolo.

TOAMASINA or TAMATAVE

The Cascades of Mangoro, th elake Alaotra, the historical vestiges at Farafaty, Foulpointe, Sainte Marie, Nosy Mangabe, the sacred eel pond of Savaiza at Vatomandry, the natural bridge of Manandra .

TOLIARA or TULEAR

The site of Saint Augustin, Nosy Ve, the fossil deposit of Ambolisaotra, the Caves of Sarodrano, the Baobab lane, the palm trees of Malio, the Bay of Sainte Luce, and Peak Saint Louis, the cliffs of Cape Sainte Marie.
